All the latest from down home... 8 December 2010

Howdy all, thanks for stopping by. Apologies for not having posted anything for a while. Once you go to the BLOG PAGE I’m sure you’ll agree we’ve made up for lost time – you might want to set aside a bit of time to read it. So yeah, go to the BLOG PAGE. This isn’t the BLOG PAGE, it’s only the front page. To go to the BLOG PAGE simply CLICK HERE.

Finally...1 December 2010

Man alive - it has been a looooong time, huh?  I assume you're all well.  Micky & I are just peachy.  Apologies for the web-silence...I could bust out a whole range of reasons but - really - you may not wish to hear about the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you.

So why don't we just agree that we've missed each other,  smooch a little & get right back on the trolley pretending that this trial separation never occurred. New blog will be up this week summarising...well, stuff since August, I guess:  births, deaths, things that are... literally... going dam-busting.  Until then, please enjoy this snippet of photos:

Feliz años - 3 August 2010

El Catorce is one year old (yes, yes...it either does or doesn't seem like a year has passed since this lil 45.5 acres of unimproved rural land officially became ours).  We celebrated by buying cows.  Not just any cows (oh yes, I CAN [and will] call them cows & not cattle as - so far - we have bought all girls)...we bought us some cows from the best cheese-makers in the district!  And they are most adorable...

There's a new blog up about a funny thing that happened on the way to the vet's the other day and another to follow directly that will be more 'cow' related, but in the mean-time here are the first glimpses of Daisy, Polly, Clarabelle & Emoo (and welcome to Andy as a new grazier & owner of Emoo)

Stuff is a-foot! Check it out on the blog page and remember, there's more than just the pic-a-tures, not much more, for example, there's no explanation for what Sass & Freckles expect to find in there...

What’s been goin’ down in Carthorse-town...for the month of May

What a month! Koala sightings, dam diggings, lambs being born… it never stops out at the farm. All the latest action can be found on the blog page, but if you’ve only got a tick, check out the latest addition to the Carthorse family below, she's only 12 hours old. Enjoy.

As always, the latest action can be found on the blog page. Do keep in mind however, that the little scribblings in-between the photographs can be helpful in the telling of the story, but if time is of the essence I understand that you might just have to work out what has happened from the pictures. Good luck.

As our country plans inch ever closer, it's still heartwarming to know that we haven't the slightest...

All the latest action can be found on the blog page.

'Sup y'all? Check out the all the fresh action as well as a touching tale on the getting of wisdom on the blog  page.

We've also got a new poll up...which isn't as saucy as it sounds as - apparently - it means hornless.  And I know that because we're country-folk now (and I know that because Micky is playing a banjo in the background as I whittle this entry)

Cheers, Nicky and Micky

Hola mi amigos! We've had some crazy computer problems at the homestead, and far be it from us to upload anything at work, so that's why it's taken a little longer than usual to get the damn blog up! The next post will see some sweet road-trip and Calexico action, but for now check out the latest for a tale of the most amazing Chinese restaurant on the face of the planet...CHUNG HING'S!!

What's goin' down in Catorce-town...22 December 2009

Bees will have to wait...we've got some donkeys to rescue!

About a month or so ago, we sent an email to a donkey rescue place saying to keep us in mind if there were any donkeys that needed your heroes to rush to their aid.  Heard dickety-squat & thought they'd forgotten all about us but, early this week, I got an email saying to call them as they had 2 female, can't be separated, just turned 1 year old donkeys to try & find a home for.

So we've hired a double horse float for Sunday & it looks like we're going on a road-trip to fork out a wad of cash to get us some ass.  Sure, it's not really great timing finance-wise but hey...could you resist these eyes?

Plus it's Christmas time & with my Catholic-girl upbringing, as if I'm going to turn down the chance to stage my own nativity plays (someone else better bring the baby!)
